I'm sowing Hunter CFBs tonight, in modules because I'm fed up with other people boasting about their beans, when I don't have any!
I'll show you lot - I'll be picking beans when yours are just a fond memory.
I think it may be wishful thinking but last year we didn't really have much of a frost until mid Nov, even with the nights drawing in I think you maybe lucky. I wish I had the energy to give some a go too!
I'm going to put some in a pot that I can move into the GH to extend the season. Fresh beans at Chr******
EDIT Just had an idea
Pulled up the Beth Alpha cucumbers that were looking very sickly and sowed some Hunter CFBs in their place. Canes left in place to give the beans an idea of what they're aiming for.
Sowed a 20 Module tray with Bijou mangetout using last year's saved seeds. The plan is to plant some outdoors and some in the GH for winter crops.
Sowed 10 All Green Bush courgettes - for succession cropping.
Planted some chitted potatoes in the permanent potato patch.
BTW the Hunter CFBs sown on 28/7 are doing well. These were bean seeds that I saved about 3 years ago. the Bijou mangetout sown the following day have also germinated.
