First frost last night, 1 degree but the grass was crunchy.
I'm very glad I brought the over-wintering chillies in to the house last night (phew). Fingers crossed the rest of the tender stuff survived as it will be back up into double digits overnight, with warm and sunny days by the end of the weekend. There should be a lot still to harvest!!
This is very early - normally (I know, the words climate and normal should no longer be used together
) I'd be picking aubergines and chillies well into November. But it would be a fitting end to a terrible summer in the potager
