I spy Blackbirds...

We are inundated with 50+ siskins, dozens of goldfinches, mixture of tits, Blackbirds, robins, and more demolishing the feeders whenever there's a lull in this horrible weather. We have 21 feeders and there well over 100 birds sharing the space to get some food x

Butterflies - small coppers, small blues (no idea which ones!), clouded yellow and the ever present cabbage whites. All too busy to sit still for the camera  Cry

Watching the birds feeding, blackbird, staring, goldfinch, coal, blue and great tits as well as sparrows when suddenly they all took off, I thought there was someone coming to the door and had frightened them off but no, then in less than a minute a sparrow hawk came and sat on the fence for a time, the birds must have either a sixth sense or an early warning system, a coal tit came back and the hawk swooped down to wards it and while watching the hawk the tit disappeared, don't know whither it dived into a clump of clematis that grows close by, or where it went it was only a matter of split seconds, but boy it must have really shifted

I-SPY Crows - great big black raucous creatures that flap into the oak trees and sit and stare with their beady eyes, like evil gargoyles. They intimidate the Chickens (another C) who take Cover when the Crows flap by.

C - creepy crawlies, both good and bad

I found a caterpillar in amongst last night's chard, I'm afraid it didn't last long.
