Not yet, Danny, apart from they'll be in touch with a date and pick-up point. Still hoping for this Saturday, 12th.
There are more dates coming up but the collection points aren't usually near me..
19th September – 2400 hens
3rd & 10th October – 5500 hens

In case you're wondering, I wasn't offered any chooks this weekend. That should mean that all 2500 hens found new homes without needing me.

Neither really. I've been a bit busy this weekend so it would have been difficult to fit in a car journey for chooks as well.
When the time is right, they'll come. Mrs Brown has no thoughts about it either.

The time was definitely not right for more chooks. Mrs Brown knew!!
She normally puts herself to bed in her coop at dusk but the last 2 nights I've found her in the nestbox, which is outside the coop. She was very reluctant to go into the coop, even with a handful of corn to tempt her.
Today, I cleaned out the coop and found red mite - yukky things. So I've been washing and spraying and itching - don't know whether its all in the mind or whether they really are crawling all over me sucking my blood. Horrid things.
I'll let her sleep in a GH tonight while the spray does its work.

Hot off the press!!
I'm collecting 3 rescue hens on Saturday.
All I know is that they're little brown ones, about 72 weeks old from a small free range farm.
Better warn Mrs Brown that she's going to have to share her bed soon!

Not yet but I welcome suggestions...................names that I can call aloud in the garden without upsetting the neighbours.

If I had chickens I’d call one of them Martha, a friends chook was called that and she was a bit of a character
