This needs to be in the what made you happy thread & wildlife photos thread. So it can have it’s very own little corner here.
I’ve not seen one of these beautiful moths for over 10 years. So I was delighted to spot one feeding on my Buddleia This afternoon.

Even happier that I got a half descent photo of it.

Gorgeous moth and super photo!
While seeing them often I only got a decent photo last year. Do you think when they get home at night they enjoy the quiet after that constant humming?!

I imagine the neighbours telling than to keep the noise down. Wink
Amazing photo, SC. Not sure that I've ever seen one.

It's lovely. I'm a big moth fan.

I saw real hummingbirds in New Hampshire last year (which was amazing), but don't think I've seen a hummingbird moth.

Excellent photo! I've seen a lime hawkmoth, but it was just sitting around at the base of a lime tree - nothing like as spectacular as yours.
How much veg and wildlife can I pack into a 6m x 8m garden in suburban Cambridge? Let’s find out!  Smile

On the subject of moths, found this beauty last summer hanging on the GH shading

awesome photo - they enjoy our honesty flowers here, but only see them a couple times a year. First time was 3 years ago, and as it was near my bird feeding area, I was convinced at first it was an actual Humming Bird
