Leave them until they break there necks then ease a fork under them to break the roots. There's no hurry to harvest unless you need the area for another crop.

A lot also depends on the size of onion you want. You can also lift 1 or 2 now for the kitchen.
Coffee keeps me busy until it’s acceptable to drink whiskey.
