It’s fairly doubtful, i think. Don’t know why but don’t think granite is good for finding fossils. I may be making this up of course. Bet you would love to fnd summat like this?, I know I would!

Made up some seed sowing compost from molehill soil (collected today), last year's tomato pots (a mix of hotbin compost and coir) and some freshly sieved Hotbin compost. I have a big trug full now so, to celebrate, I sowed 4 different "leaves" - cauli, cabbage, spigariello and Bekana.
Planted 6 self seeded brassicas - not sure what they are - look like kale and they pop up all over the place. These were in the tomato pots.
Did a bit of clearing in GH4, where I grow the "windowsill" tomatoes. The Red Robin seeds I sowed last week are already up.

Did a bit of tidying of pots waiting area. Took down last year’s sweet pea frame. Removed the wind brake I’d put up as it got ripped out by the last gale. Did a little mental planning for the year. Sorted out my plant labels.
Builder that would like to go play in the garden.

My day started very frosty, and ended the same. The trees are glistening white and I much prefer that to snow. I decided to head out with the dogs to take photos and survey the ground around the pond to see where the warmth melts the frost first - part of getting to know a new garden, right?
I finished my uni essay yesterday, so today is my first work-less, no uni day leaving me free to play as I wish! I decided that clearing away Christmas HAD to happen before I found all my seeds, compost, trays and labels, or it is quite possible it never will happen at all and I'll have Christmas decs up in August still.
I got it done, and sowed 30 odd types of seeds, some shared in other posts already. It's the first seeds of 2025! I found a seed bag I had saved from Turkey - a fascinating tree with long bean-looking pods. I sowed some in a pot and bagged it. You never know
I've also sown some Shishito peppers. My god I've missed them peppers. Small and delicious cooked on the barbeque whole. Something to dream about and yearn for the summer
