Pretending to jump on the turnip bandwagon    Wink  Big Grin  .
How do you prep, cook, eat yours ?

I’ve only ever roasted mine. It’s also a vegetable I’ve never brought. If I don’t grow it, I don’t eat it.

I don't normally use white fleshed turnip unless I grow them but I do use swede a lot, either home grown or bought. Mainly mashed with butter but also in stews and soups. Smile

Who would do anything with a turnip!
I tried to grow them and failed miserably, never bought them. In my book they're like radishes, to be avoided.

Swede though is a wonderful veg. Mashed with lashings of butter. Never managed to grow one worth peeling though.

I prefer to grow daikon/mooli rather than white turnips. It has exactly the same taste and texture, but you get more bang for your buck. It is a melt in your mouth veg, same as snowball turnips and I prefer large pieces steamed and eaten as a side veg. Cool  If mashed I think it would turn into an unappetizing slurry! Cry

I’ve sown some golden globe turnip today. Never grown them before. Usually grow purple topped Milan.

I've grown both but like you normally grow PTM. Grew some last year, still in ground, didn't come to much! Rolleyes

I have only ever sown them as a sacrificial crop, cabbage whites seem to enjoy the leaves and woodlice the roots.
