At the Seed Swap I picked up some anonymous beans. All they could tell me about them was, that they were not Broad Beans and they thought they might be too old to germinate. Now I'm a sucker for orphan seeds so I picked up a handful and brought them home.
I've had a bit of a DuckDuck and found something similar but, before I say what I think they are, I'm going to ask the Panel for your thoughts.
Thank you.

Some of my Gigantes have similat colouration but it's hard to guage size by your piccies? If they were mentioned in the same sentence as broad beans, I assume they are a similar size, which would fit with my theory?

After a very entertaining google search. My guess is an Italian variety of some sort. Or old Lima Del Papa Beans
Builder that would like to go play in the garden.

Agreed, my Lima O Del Papa beans look a lot like that.

Thanks everyone for your help.
Vinny, they are the size of broad beans but flatter.
Jen, I thought they might be Christmas beans and got excited because it meant I could say the C word at any time of the year. However, I couldn't find any UK suppliers.
SC & Pros, I think you could be right with O del Papa, especially as they're available from Premier Seeds, Chiltern Seeds and Pennard Plants and more. Funny how I've never spotted them before. Not like me to miss something unusual.
