Spud and Ted and their Mum, Bess

She’s such a cutie   .

Does she start prodding you if you take to long throwing the stick? Or does she have more patience than my skew   

Bess drops it at your feet or in whatever you're working with - like a flowerpot, bucket or on a plant. Sometimes, she'll put it up on a seat, so that I don't have to bend for it! She whimpers pathetically if you ignore her, this turns into an annoyed yip after a while.
Bess is very good at finding whatever has been thrown, even tiny bits of stick 3" long - and she won't stop running around until she's found it. I deliberately pretend to throw things in one direction but actually throw it the other way. Bess will start running in the direction she thinks I'm aiming for before its thrown. Ted is the opposite, he'll wait until the stick has been thrown and watch to see where it lands before running.
Spud is just hopeless at being a dog.
