2022 - Picked my first..................

My first peach.
I didn't pick this one but another, riper one.. Juice drippingly delicious.

Looks super delicious VC, I never knew peaches would grow here in non Mediterranean climates.

There were more peaches this year than previously.  They've been dug up and moved twice!
Its hard to know when to pick them - and I can't get it right. If you wait until they're ripe, they rot in a couple of days. Pick them unripe and its a gamble whether they're actually ripen. Also, the birds and squirrels are very partial to snacking on them and, once they're damaged they deteriorate rapidly. I've just put organza bags over the last few to see if that helps.
I have 3 trees but I probably wouldn't plant another one.
