Having successfully smoked some trout once in the wok, Mr PP has bought me a smoker! It is one of those ones with fuel burners underneath so can/should be used outside. It even has a thermometer.
I'm happy with smoking fish, meat, cheese and tofu but wondered if anybody had smoked other things? Celeriac maybe?
Please share your ideas, recipes and photos

Garlic? I'm not a huge fan of smoked food, but I understand smoked garlic is A Thing.
Or peppers, maybe? Smoked paprika is one thing I do like!
How much veg and wildlife can I pack into a 6m x 8m garden in suburban Cambridge? Let’s find out!

I have a stove top smoker (somewhere!). Think I smoked hardboiled eggs once! Don't let the fact that I only did it once stop you - it was just that we rarely used it!!

I made a hot smoker for trout out of two Turkey roasting dishes (99p each) with a small bean tin of meths underneath. It worked fine and I used to take it with me when the kids were young and make hot smoked trout for them in about 20 minutes on site. It was better than taking sarnies but relied heavily on one or more of us catching a trout!
Tried using it in the house once and smoked the house out!

Yummy! I like both of those. And Jalapeño into Chipotle too

I’ve smoked salmon, trout, mackerel, cheese, eggs, chillis, venison, mussels.
All cold smoked except the venison ( that was smoked/ cooked in a pit ).

Excellent! My otherwise lovely neighbour often has (illegal) bonfires so I can feel a little revenge coming on

I have hot smoked salmon and king prawns on my BBQ. I bought red cedar wood planks soaked them in water for a few hours got the BBQ good and hot put the boards on, got them burning and smoking then put the salmon or prawns on the board. Turned out lovely. Have done this several times last summer.
Coffee keeps me busy until it’s acceptable to drink whiskey.
