Time to reopen the Little Shop at the end of the garden!

My little shop is definitely slowing down for the winter now. There’s a reasonable supply of jalapenos and a few other chillies available or coming soon. A couple of aubergines and the last handful of tomatoes. One last handful of dried beans in the pick your own aisle. Some old woody beetroot. Still some nice squash and carrots available but that’s about it. Shop keeper is planning some more improvements and expansion over the winter. Including hopefully a new product , honey.

My shop has definitely gone downhill this year. The shop keeper blamed climate conditions and pest invasions for lack of produce. There doesn't seem to have been a glut of any particular product. The shelves have some chard, apples and carrots but not a lot else.

My shopkeeper told me that Your shopkeeper had cornered the market for cucumbers and courgettes and that the suppliers had none left for his shop. Tongue

You're right his cucumbers were plentiful, courgettes were OK but not as plentiful as usual, with only a few binned. Tomatoes were in regular supply but the varieties were much reduced.  I've told him he's got to do better next year.

Our local shop seems to be ready to close for the season. A couple of squash and a few carrots and quite a lot of chillies. left on the shelves. A tidy up wouldn’t hurt, it’s all looking very sorry for its self. The flower department closed weeks ago. Most of the salad self service has been pretty much nonexistent. As ever hope for bigger and better next year.

The shopkeeper was stocktaking today. He said he expects his supply of tomatoes to last for a few more weeks. Salad leaves, chard and some small trombone squash are also available. Plenty of apples and pears on the shelves. He's expecting a delivery of Mangetout in a couple of weeks from a new supplier in GH4. Fresh 3 cornered leeks are available on a PickYourOwn basis.
He's clearly annoyed at being let down by the courgette supplier this year and is thinking of sourcing them elsewhere next year.
