Pears don't store well in my limited experience. Saw something on the net about sealing the end of the stalk with sealing wax. I really can't remember why my better half bought sealing wax all those years ago but, after a lot of searching I found it!. Half a dozen pears have red, waxed stalks now.

A few new or not done for a while things achieved today.

Went to the mainland I think for first time in 12 months. First time in 3 years with Bob.
Went for an eye test. First time in 15 years .
Had to choose my very first pair of glasses. Only need them for reading (thankfully)
Had a copycat KFC from the chicken cottage. It was very good.

Cut up an old caravan awning that's been in a cupboard for 20 years  Blush  and turned it into a sunshade.

I bought a huge Echinacea plant from Morries reduced counter for £2.50 originally pried at £10.00. Not sure whether to leave it in its roughly 10 to 12 inch pot for the winter or plant it out? If I do plant it out I may even split it up into 2 or 3 plaants as it is so well established?

I am trying to add a photo of plant? It doesn't look much but it's way past it's floweing time so will hopefully ome into its own next year?

I have now taken another batch of apple rings out of the dehydrater and given it a good clean. Once clean, I have added some strips of beef marinated in a Gyro sesaoning! I haven't used this seasoning with beef before, so It's a bit of an experiment, but it goes well with pork so I am not concerned!

I'd be inclined to split it and plant it out as a hard frost could damage its roots while in the pot.

Good thinking, I was thinking down the same lines so that's what I have decided to do! Smile
