Sweet potato sprout

How good so you think my memory is, Mark? I know I planted some rooted slips in the garden and they grew leaves but thay must have given up the ghost at some point because I've never harvested any from that patch.

I was in 2 minds whether to preface my remark: "Can you remember ..." but thought 3 years is no time at all when you are over 40.

I forgot, you must be in your secont (or 3rd maybe)childhood -  or did you never leave your first (like a lot of us)?

I'm a child at heart, if not in body.

Just cooking some more for tea and found several small sprouts on them all. I'll put 1 in the fridge and see if it will overwinter there. The wrong time of year really but, looking at the place of origin, they are from South Africa so may be want to go home.

I've never tried growing sweet potatoes but surely to put a tropical plant in the fridge is going to result in serious damage or death? (To the sweet potato, not you or the fridge). I imagine anything below 10C is way too cold.
