Tipped out a carrier bag of onions I had brought from allotment onto my decking. Soted out the smallest ones which I would make pickled onions with.

Topped/tailed and peeled onions until I had enough fo my storage jar. Tipped them back out of jar ito a sieve and rinsed. I decided to just use what I aleady had in the house. I put peppecorms, sugar, salt and deied bay leaves into bottom of jar with a little vinegar and mixed it all up until sugar and salt had dissolved.

Added onions, aded vinegar, clamped lid on and gave it a good shake!

No idea what they will be like, but I will pobably leave a fortnight to infuse befoe tying them? I have alwways used malt vinegar in the past, so we shall see? Huh

Picked a bucket of apples and pruned bits off the tree in the process. Sliced and cooked a panful which I'll freeze for winter breakfasts.
Took the melon pot out of the GH as it was covered in whitefly. There was a very fat ladybird at the bottom! Binned the plants as they're clearly not going to do anything worthwhile. Picked some tomatoes and did some de-leafing.

Planted a fig tree I just purchased in a large square plastic pot. Used a full bag of John Innes compost I had left over from last year! I have put it on the decking for now but undecided whether to take it to allotment and and put it in my semi glass- less greenhouse or whether to just bury the whole pot in the garden whee I want it to grow? I reckon I have a month or two to make a decision? I can't imagine them being an ornamental plant though?

Because the rain wasn't too bad (quite refreshing really!) I decided to get my wood saw out and cut the boads I had marked to size the other day! All boads for shelf now cut but still need to notch them out aound upights on bench I made.

I have a (what was probably expensive?) folding garden table frame (looks like mahaogany) in the shed which needed a bit of repair with long screws. Once it was
solid again I folded it up and took it outside to make a bit of room. It is a really handy table and I used it a lot when building the shed fo setting out and screwing pieces together.

Then the HEAVY rain came and I said "Sod it" and called it a day! Big Grin

Transplanted about a dozen modules of chives into a small plant trough. They've been hanging around for months, waiting for me to do something with them. They were a mass of tangled roots! That's about all I did in the garden today - its been raining for most of it.

Tipped water out of the the seedling trays. After months of watering it seems strange to be protecting them from drowning. Picked rain sodden raspberries.
