That's not a particularly good price, but they also currently have a deal for 15% off a spend of £75+ if you're in the B&Q Club (which just means signing up for an account with them, no payment required). When you sign up to the club you will get an e-mail for a £5 discount code.

If you order 10 bags it comes to £80, minus the 15% makes that £68, then the £5 discount code brings it to £63. So that's 665L of compost for £63, which works out at £4.73 per 50L bag (if the bags were 50L). And delivery on my order was free!

The 15% off ends tomorrow.

It's a pretty good compost, I didn't find much or any plastic in it, so I don't think it has any green waste compost in, or if it does it's been screened better than other brands.

Thanks TMTT, it sounds really good value, although I'm not likely to take up the offer. Storage would be a problem and it's the wrong time of year for me.

Have you not got any room under the bed?

Luckily we have a bit of covered decking that I can stack it under so it keeps dry over winter. That should stop it from breaking down too much, and preserve the nutrients. The garden centre stuff sits outside all year round and gets soaked. I have been looking for good quality peat free at a reasonable price for a while since I'll be propagating a lot of perennials over winter. Most peat free is priced at £8.99 per bag at garden centres round here, it just seems to be getting more and more expensive.

No, but there is P's workshop, that might do. 

While out in Merseyside I went to the loo in Asda in Walton and noticed their compost was £10 for 3x40L bags, about £4.20 for 50L. No idea what it is like

DT Brown have some seeds at 99p - also doing 3 for 2 on Veg seeds. This also works with the 99p veg so they're 66p a packet. Not much choice though - mostly salad leaves, and a few roots. Not sure what the P&P is but its sure to be substantial!!

Would you believe delivery is free! I had a look but didn't need any of the limited seeds on offer, shame.

I liked the look of some yellow Rudbeckia in a local gaden so I thought I would order some.

 The postage always put me off until I found 6 plug plants of Thompson & Morgan Rudbeckia Fulgida Goldsturm for £5.99 at Robert Dyas and free delivey!


 Due to be delivered by 4th September I will probably have to wait until next year to see them in flower?

If its any help. I was talking to the gardener at a stately home that was going to be taken over by the National Trust. He told me that they sow Rudbeckia seeds in all the empty spaces as they need little attention and look good. They did, too, I'd better look for my Rudbeckia seeds.

Yeah, I know I am taking a chance as it's the wrong time of year for planting but depending on thee size I may pot them on into bigger pots rather than planting out immediatly? I was kinda hoping they were getting too big, that's  why they dropped the postage to get rid?

PS I believe they were grown fom T&M seed, but grown and shipped fom Robert Dyas? May be wrong though?
