Well the box and fuses would have cost me £200 from screwfix, so £500 for 1/2 days work plus 60 mile round trip. He did do a very neat job.

A little landscaping still needs doing SC is the name Bradan the Gaelic for Salmon ? as we Irish would spell it Bhradáin ? I love the stone work.

A little landscaping still needs doing SC is the name Bradan the Gaelic for Salmon ? as we Irish would spell it Bhradáin ? I love the stone work. It is Gaelic for salmon. It was very difficult choosing a Gaelic name. Because there are so many different dialects. Which means many different words and spelling for the same thing. Or that word meaning something very different in a different dialect. We went through lots of different opinions and advice before settling on Bradan. It had to be animal or plant in Gaelic ( one of the very few stipulations of buying the land) . We had to have something that didn’t need spelling every time we gave our address. Our first choice was sandpiper. As this was the first thing we photographed the first time we visited the island. Turns out sandpiper would need spelling every time and is different in every dialect and means some very disturbing things in some dialects. That you definitely don’t want to name your house. But salmon was the perfect choice as we very nearly (due to the incompetence of solicitors on both sides) brought the fishing rights to the land and not actually the land!

He’s been back again today. We’ve got wires everywhere. It’s awesome. I like sparky , he’s been a friend for a few years and he’s very good at his job. But I’m still a little uncomfortable with someone else drilling holes and doing things in our house. . He’s going to be back on Tuesday apparently. It’s very exciting. Definite progress. We’re having to make some on the spot decisions.
