Not a lot apart from shopping and watering. Too hot.

Did some gardening early this morning before it got too hot.

Planted out the last dwarf french beans and a few replacement climbing french beans which had been nibbled away. Also planted some french marigolds and Valentine sunflowers. Gave everything a good watering.

I had a bit of excitement this morning which got the adrenalin going. I had just got out my gate with Kato when a woman came running down the street shouting

"Get your dog back inside theres a vicious St Bernard on the loose" closely followed by a huge St Bernhard bounding down the street and attacking Kato! Now Kato is 15 years old but he stuck to his guns and gave as good as he got. In the end though because the dogs fur was so thick and because of the extra weight he decked Kato and tried to worry him!
I wasn't having any of that and grabbed the St Bernhard by the scruff of the neck and dragged him off. He might have been a strong powerful dog but at least he didn't try tp bite me. I asked the woman (who had called the Police?) to put Kato back in behind my gate before I let the monster go, ready to punch it in the head if it turned on me!
It shot away down the street but then came bounding back!  Shit thought I, but I managed to grab it again and started to march it with difficulty back down the street to where I new it lived.
It's owner was heading up the street in her car and after a struggle parked her car and marched it home. She was crying her eyes out and asked if it had attacked my dog, but no harm was done and I was glad it got taken home.
The first woman asked if I would ring the Police as she had a crime number but because I had major involvment would I ring? I was loathe to do so and just hope the Police dont make a big issue of it, as shit happens now and again. I know because I have been through the same with Kato escaping once when he was yonuger!
I was so pumped up with adrenalin, I could have wrestled an alligator! Big Grin Alls well that ends well, and neither human or dog were harmed!

Glad it ended well. I thought it was a joke at first as I've never heard of a vicious St Bernard. I wonder if the hot weather has affected him?

I think it must just be towards dogs? I have had Kato on a lead before and bumped into the St Bernard on lead with it's owner.Kato doesnt like other dogs but I can control him, the St Bernards owner gets dragged all over once he makes a move for another dog. I reckon he will be a big softie with most humans and I happen to know there is an autistic son in the family, so he must be fine? He was hard to get a hold of as I understand he escaped whilst getting shampood and was a slippery customer!
If I am out with Kato and I see him coming on the lead with his owner, we usually hide behaind a parked car to save any fuss!

Full marks to you Vinny for your sympathetic understanding. It would have frightened the life out of anyone but you.

Nothing so exciting as Vinny's morning, I've planted out 40 odd sweetcorn plants.
