Started raining 10 minutes ago. Even we need it. Just hope it’s not the end of summer. It’s currently just a nice gentle drizzle. Don’t want massive downpours that flatten everything.

All changed. Gone is the sunshine, replaced by grubbiness. Warmer nights though, no gh shuffle and better for planting out.

Drizzle - not enough to make a difference - just enough to be annoying.

Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without.

Two water butts refilled overnight. The other, slow-to-fill one is about half full. All the plants look much happier now, they always seem to enjoy water from the sky more than from a watering can.

Drizzle constant for the last two days, with a hard frost yesterday morning. The ice was thick on the car. Thankfully the seedings that I've chucked outside are close to the barn, which keeps them warm over night. They are all unharmed.

The rain was very welcome here overnight and some more today. I can see one or 2 parsnips coming up, hopefully will soon get a lot more. Not soon enough though for one local farmer who had planted winter wheat. We walked a public footpath through his field a couple of days ago and it had been ploughed up and maize sown.
