I've boned it, it was far easier than sawing through bone.

I've hardly set foot outside the house today - its been raining non-stop.
Been gathering together clutter and offering on the local freebie site instead.

Nothing garden related because of work & rain.

Not a lot of rain here, it seems to miss us. I was hoping for a day of some sort of wet, but no show. Pricked out clumps of lobelia , potted on cucumbers and courgettes. Brought out some toms from indoors to gh. Then spent some time shuffling things about to keep them warm overnight.

The day isn't over yet, but we're going out for a birthday party. I've made plans of what I am sowing today or tomorrow. It feels like I can finally sow the tender plants such as courgettes, squashes etc.
I'm sowing some direct outside too. My first bed is very sandy so will dedicate that to carrots.

Weeding, weeding and yet more weeding. Started weeding my large pots on the decking in the sunsshine. Once the sun moved to the side of the house I started hand weeding the side border in the sun. Once the sun was gone from there, returned to the decking! Nice and sunny but freezing in the shade.

Potted up some Beth Alpha cucumber seedlings. Planted some Red Robin tomato seedlings in a trough. Planted Bijou mangetout
seedlings in the old chicken run. The ones I planted there a couple of weeks ago were eaten by summat.
Washed and dried 2 loads of dirty clothes and towels. Caught up with the backlog now.
Generally pottered, pulling up weeds, watching butterflies, sniffing the apple blossom and bluebells. Nothing too strenuous.

Put some more compost in the lemon balm pot and gave him a nice long drink. After his ordeal. Potted up some honesty and put it on the barrow ( no irony there! ) . Potted on sunflowers and sown more. As some had been slugged. Put hopefully a protective layer of egg shell on and around sunflower seeds & seedlings. Painted a pallet I acquired today, with the colourful shades I did the pot store and barrow. Mostly to use up the paint. So I can have my shed worktop back. Also because it’ll be the platform for my hot bin to sit on in one of my other tunnels when I put them up. I’m determined to earn enough from my barrow this year . To buy myself a hot bin. I’m nearly half way already. Finished filling a fish box with the last of the manure heap.
