What's flying near you?

Last 2 mornings I’ve seen a pair of blue tits spending a lot of time checking out one of our nest boxes.

A beautiful Comma butterfly.

I've seen several brightly yellow coloured butterflies - we call them lemon butterflies here, but apparently their English name is Moorland Clouded Yellow.

We have so many birds here that I can't list them all. When I got out the door this morning they were singing so loud in the trees outside that it was almost deafening.

I rescued one out of my GH yesterday, they're really pretty.

There has been a bachelor group of red mason bees hovering around my bee hotel most of the afternoon in the warm sun, waiting in hope for females to emerge.

Holly Blue butterfly - like a tiny flying sapphire sparkling in the sunlight. It landed on some flowering brassicas with bright yellow flowers, Perfect contrast.

Orange Tip butterflies - several. ............and some little brown ones that moved too fast for me to identify.

Two grey geese flew in yesterday and spent most of the day frolicking in the pond. They flew off in the evening.
