Finished a test for a new freelance gig, went to the allotment and moved 16 bags of compost up to my plot over a not inconsiderable distance, was offered the new freelance gig. Opened up the blow away and cold frame since the day is so sunny and warm.

I edit scientific documents, sometimes directly for scientists and sometimes through agencies. This particular gig is a new arrangement with an agency. They'll offer me work when they have something that suits my specialty, but I am not an employee of the agency. I prefer the flexibility of freelance work rather than contracted employment to work around school schedules.

Thank you DJ, I was imagining a music gig.

In the end it mght be me digging as P has a hernia   Sick   (deep in my heart I'm hoping he can do it) otherwise we might be going no dig without all the compost topping faff.

He did dig, with a bit of help from me.  Well done P.  I am eternally thankful. Top bed nearly done.  I still need to bash hell out of the clods before it's suitable for sowing.

Emptied the hanging basket I got yesterday. Potted up the 3 strawberry plants I found in it. Moved most of the tunnel trays out to the hardening off bench. They’re having their first night out as well. A bit quick after starting to go out. But probably safer out. As mice have found the tunnel. War will be starting very soon. Filled the trailer with stuff for the tip.

I'm at war with mice and bittercress. A conversation with P yesterday whilst digging. Me: Bittercress is taking over the world. If it were sentient we'd be in trouble and hearing "Feed me Seymour" all over. P: Looked at me totally baffled without a clue as to what I was on about (no change there then). I sometimes wonder how we can have been married for 44 years.  Rolleyes For those of you who also haven't a clue - Little Shop of Horrors.

I remember hiring Little Shop of Horrors from our local video shop for a  Halloween party in the late 80's, our girls and their friends loved it.
