Some of the seedlings got to experience the outside world for first time today. Cut back lots of dead in the cottage garden. Pulled up some tarragon that was escaping the other side of the bed! Never knew it was a bit of a thug. Potted up the escapees for my sales barrow. A couple more barrow loads of soil / manure mix into the cut flower bed.

Hacking out brambles and holly from the back hedge and putting it in the garden waste bin. Picking out thorns from my fingers!
Uncovered the courgettes and remembered to recover them before dark.

I set out to have a marathon sowing day but got sidetracked. Previously I had started to weed the fruitcage, getting rid of the bittercress going to seed. I remembered I hadn't finished it so I thought I ought to continue with the 'graft' before starting the fun jobs. Then I got prickled by the gooseberry bushes which were trying to tell me they needed attention, so thought I ought to prune them. Then saw that I hadn't finished cutting down the old raspberry canes, so finished that. I only got to sow a few marigolds before it was time to go in.

Cutting dead wood out of various shrubs. Its easy to spot the dead stuff now that the leaves are growing.
Weeding the old chicken run as I need to plant some mangetout seedlings in the next few days.
Washed & dried a load of washing in the sunshine. A beautiful day all round.

Pricked out more tomato seedling. Germination has been considerably better than expected. Started setting up for my hardening off bench to go up. Hopefully it’ll be level when Bob helps me put it together. It’s too heavy for a one man job. Collected more coffee grounds & egg shells. Washed egg shells. Everything else hasn’t been garden related.

I'm only too happy to hear about non garden related stuff, but that's because I'm nosy.

I had a day in the garden planned yesterday, and the weather was so lovely too. But, I got called into work before I got proper stuck in. Six work days this week, but thankfully only two next week, so I have said they cant ring me next week at short notice lol
I need to make a list of everything that need doing. I feel like I am constantly just doing what is closest to hand, and that is not very organised.

Planted some Bijou/Golden Sweet mangetout pea seedlings in the old chicken run and sowed some more in the empty modules to maintain succession planting.
Cleared more dead brambles and vinca from Strip 3. Rain stopped play.
