Only one man delivering, all respect to him he carried a divan base up a bank all by himself albeit reluctantly. He thought he was delivering to the garage but P persuaded him to drop it by the back door. P & I managed to get it indoors and into the spare room. No tea and cake for him!

Lots of little odd jobs today. Put new bolts on my shed door. Scrubbed the canvas on some garden chairs we acquired ( it didn’t help). Took sign off the barrow. Put it away so it can dry out , ready for a repaint. Also moved a bundle of driftwood I’ve had outside washing clean in the rain to a drying area. Walked dogs. That’s about it for excitement.
Made the most of a couple of hours of dry weather this morning to do some pruning in Strip 1 - raspberry canes, buddleia, brambles, jostaberry. Turned a jostaberry twig into a cutting and pushed it in the ground where there was a space. Not the right space but, I don't care!
The dogs overturned one of the daleks so I assume that some little critter is living in the compost. I'll move the bin tomorrow - the "compost" is a bit rough so I'll just spread it around and start again.
Watered the GH pots.
Filled some modules ready to sow some beetroot tonight (its Roots & Shoots week). They can have a few days in my bedroom before going out in the cold.
Stripped the rosemary cuttings from the "Prawn lady" and put them in water. Did the same with the giant spring onions. Once they've recovered, I'll eat the tops and plant the bases.

More pruning and de-brambling in Strip 2 - I'm working my way into the fruit bush area where gooseberry bushes attack, loganberries sprawl and raspberries reach for the sky. There are some currant bushes too - somewhere! The last surviving WW2 apple trees is in there too. It could be lovely if it wasn't for the brambles and periwinkle. One day!

Transplanted some Navara lettuces into the Kratky boxes (UPPSNOFSAD from Ikea). The boxes have been in the grow tent since November, but the lettuce in there went past its best so into the greenhouse they go.
Emptied a few failed pots into one big pot. Planted 8 sprouting garlic cloves and turmeric tuber. Not got the heart to compost it yet. But it’s really not as healthy as when Veggie sent it to me.
Put woodworm treatment on 2 garden chairs. The type with a canvas seat & back. And an old wooden trunk/suitcase. That we acquired recently.

Washed and, almost dried 3 loads of washing. nearly caught up on the backlog.
Collected 18 pots/planters of unwanted plants - mostly flowers - pansies, cyclamen, osteospermun (sounds like a disease) and a few fruit bushes. All need some TLC and to find a permanent location in the garden as I can't be doing with pots!
