I don’t like begonias, never have since I was a florist and had sort out the big slimy mess they made under the lights of the display shelves. The leaves on that one could change my mind. It’s really quiet lovely and unusual.
I’d call it galaxy because it spirals outwards in the same never ending way.

I've told Lily's lettuce that I'm going to split it so she can grow it for sale and she's told me not to!! That she's grown lot of begonias from leaf cuttings. Comes to something when a 13/14 year old is telling me off.

SC & JJB - for your eyes only.
When I sent you a Snail begonia leaf, I put a leaf in a pot of water meaning to do something clever with it. Guess what! The stem has rooted.
How are yours doing?

I slashed my leaf in several places and placed it on a pot of compost and pinned it down at the edges with little stones. And placed a small amount of compost in the middle.and placed it in an unheated propagator. The propagator has now been heated for 2 weeks. As of yet no sign of growth, but the bits of leaf that are still visible look healthy enough. I’m planning on changing my compost as not of my chillies have germinated either.

How are yours doing? My stem was also put in water temporarily but the stem rotted. I sliced the leaf into bits and plonked them edge down in some dodgy compost (all that I had available) and set them in a plastic bag on the kitchen windowsill. As it happens I checked them this morning. Most leaf segments are still turgid (?) But one was rotted. No babies showing yet.

Congratulations on your new baby. My leaves are still thinking about doing something with not a lot of action. In fact I think one is staring to rot rather than root.
