First FREE stuff of 2025. Big Grin
A Kuhn Rikon Duromatic pressure cooker - Swiss made, stainless steel looks like new. Previous owner said it was given to her by her sister but hardly used as she has an airfryer. My old pressure cooker is OK but looking its age - I'll keep it for cooking the dog's food and have the bright shiny one for my food.

Also IN came 3 healthy eating/recipe books by Amelia Freer.

IN today came a cupboard/freezer clearout from a regular contact's mother! My fame is spreading. Big Grin

Five tins of tomatoes, 3 jars of pasta sauce, tinned chicken in cream sauce, sachet of pasta with sauce, noodles, M&S Cheese biscuits and Ale & onion chutney (? Christmas cheeseboard?) . A huge bag of Typhoo teabags - probably give these to the £5 Pantry.
Frozen pigs in blankets, meatballs (for the dogs), Yorkshire puddings & 64 Seafood/crab sticks!

The Prawn lady has messaged to let me know there'll be more food tomorrow. Big Grin

Have these people never heard of eating  things up?  Whilst it's not wasted coming  to you, it is incredible the potential waste.

The "problem" with the tinned and jarred food is that its past its use by date. Lots of people take these dates as gospel. When midnight arrives, the food turns to poison and nobody in their right mind would risk eating it. Fortunately, there's nothing right about mine.Big Grin
The cause of the "problem" is partly the manufacturer
- the dates tell the stores which batch of tins should be sold first - but they don't explain that to the consumer. the consumer just chucks out them out!

IN today came a Camembert cheese and a large Brie. Even better, they were within walking distance so Ted and I went to collect them.

I think it's the same as sell by dates and use by dates, It's just to save the companies getting a law suit against them for food poisoning and also making the buyers throw them out and go and buy another batch. Rolleyes

Two food collections this morning. Big Grin
Six tins of soup (3 x tomato), tinned sweetcorn & potatoes, Red Hot Wings buffalo sauce (think I'll pass on this).
Next up the Prawn lady:-
Seven tubs of Brandy Cream
Five packs of prawns,
Four tubs of yogurt
Three Cottage cheese and cut dill
Two packs of crumpets
And a bag of Brussels sprouts.

Sorry there wasn't a Six pack of anything - I'll have to complain!

OUT went a heated "shawl" thing that I won't use. You can't wander around when you're plugged in to a socket!

OUT go the Brandy cream (apart from one tub which I tried and disliked) and the Yogurts as I have plenty in the fridge and it would be a shame to waste them.

Not necessarily free stuff but getting rid of stuff to the dump... sorry household recycling centre, they dont like being called the dump. I'm feeling very virtuous, stones, dead appliances, old broken pots, etc. The silver submarine was full to brim.
