^^^ Clara is the more beautiful and perfectly formed, but that is only natural for the female of the species.  Sexist?  You bet!
Aubergines are on my grow list for next year  Smile

My first fruit rotted. Noticed a second one forming this morning so pulled off the dead petals to prevent this one going the same way........hopefully.
Builder that would like to go play in the garden.

One are doing fine and I have already cut three and have several more almost ready.Just trying to keep on top of the Aphids and red spider mite. Even though I have been keeping the humidity up they are still attacking. I think they must have a real liking for the furry leaves!

Are they inside Roitelet as they are pretty pest free outside down here, voles aside, if slower into production.

Some of the Mixed Aubergines. Its quite exciting wondering what colour they'll be when they come out of their furry little parcels - like opening a surprise present. Still haven't picked any!

But both Clara

and Casper

are starting to fruit.

Both varieties are new to me (the plants were grown by a friend), so we shall see what the flavour is like  Smile

We've eaten Clara who looks pretty and has a very mild flavour, but a nice texture. Caspar, a bit stronger and denser structure.

The Turkish Orange aubergines are starting to ripen - they are about the size of a satsuma but can be pretty bitter. Novelty value!

Sadly the voles are working their way along the row of bianca at the moment and I cannot seem to dig out the tunnels - 3 of the 5 plants are sad wilted things, although not quite dead ...
