We had a terrific thunderstorm last night - with lightning - just after I'd gone to bed. Takes a lot to keep me awake though.
This morning was beautiful though. Warm, sunny, calm. It was a real treat to be out in the garden, attacking brambles and nettles.

Awful weather today - heavy rain, and gusty wind. I know that because it blew a carrier bag out of my hand in the supermarket car park and I had to chase it right to the far end to retrieve it- and it only stopped there because there was a wall in the way!

Last couple of days have been the same. Mornings not to bad can play in the garden. Come lunchtime very heavy rain and getting windier as the afternoon/ evening goes on.

We have a Red storm warning for tonight & tomorrow for high winds & rain. It must be serious as we've had warnings on our mobile phones! Lots of events being cancelled and, M&S are closing their store tomorrow morning. Fair play to them putting safety before profit.
Stay safe everyone.

This may be the earliest I've ever been on here!! It was so windy in the night that I couldn't sleep - just lying there in bed listening to the wind rattling across the slates and around the chimney stack, so I got up! Threw on an enormous fleecy top that reaches down to my knees (it was FREE) and came downstairs to disturb the dogs - that was about 4.30. Since then I've been listening to the radio (loud), eating toast & jam, drinking herb tea and playing with dogs. I've filled a flask of hot water in case the power goes off. There are lots of outages locally.
Its too dark to see much outside. The trees are just emerging from the darkness. I've no idea what time its light - I'm not usually awake at this crazy time.
Hope everyone is safe and undamaged.

Hope everything is ok in not so sunny south Wales.
It’s certainly a wild one out there! I feel your sleep deprived pain, I’m right there with you. I didn’t get up but a lot of YouTube videos were watched .

I pleased everyone's OK. At least you've still got leccy.
I'm still in a fever fug, totally useless and I'm getting fed up. That's a week of it now, it should have moved on.
