2024 - Tonight's recipe

I have fried some bacon that was cut into smaller chunks. I added beef mince and fried that with bacon pieces. Boiled eggs will go with my concoction and maybe a bit of hot sauce to liven it up a bit? I've hust had a bacon sarnie at my Daughters house (first piece of bread I have eaten for at least six months,but I didn't  like to say no!)
My cooked  meal will have to wait for ron as I am full now with the bacon sarnie!

A bacon story! 
My Daughter is a caterer and bought seven large packs of bacon at a tenner each for a planned event. The event was cancelled because of weather so I got one of those packs and froze it into six packs of five slices (the amount I use in one sitting) Consequently, we are both working our way through a bacon mountain.

I turned half of my concoction into a chilli for ron as it was a bit bland!

Mushroom, veg and lentil lasagne this evening.

Something with diced beef, if it defrosts in time.
Probably curry or chilli.

B. Porridge, banana, & coconut yogurt
L. Olive ciabatta toast with grated cheese
D. Prawn mayo, jacket potato & lettuce

All FREE.

Jacket potatoes, sausage rolls with beans and homemade coleslaw.

Had some cold chicken meatbals for £1 from Iceland when I was out shopping this afternoon.

 I have just done a taste trial with Aldi's and Morries £2.50 for four frozen fish and unlike veggie I would ever so slightly favour the Morries version?I had them with yellow sticker Tenderstem brocolli and butter.

In my  view is about 6.5 out od 10 for Aldi's and 7 out of 10 for Morries! I felt Morries batter was tastier, if not a bit thicker than Aldi's which I thought was a fault at first, but Aldi's batter was quite tasteless to my pallette.I suppose it's wrong to judge fish just by the batter,but it comes as a package and the fish was the same for me in both.
While I was in Iceland I picked up two extra large Young's Chip Shop fillets for £2.00 so I will gie those a go and see what I think? They are  300g for two whereas the others are 500g for four so they are slightly dearer.

Better try Lidl fish next!

Cauliflower broccoli cheese

For a change we're having fish, chips and peas from the chippy.

Veggie I've not tried those Iceland sell 2 battered fillets for £1 but they do have good reviews well apart from one.
