Reminds me of the year dad gave mum new saucepans for Christmas, she was not impressed. Thereafter he just used to bung me a few quid and say 'get something for your mother'. He was a kind, gentle, true gentleman but romance or thoughtfulness wasn't in his dna. I'm surprised he and P weren't from the same gene stock.
