I've intended to grow Soapwort for a while, even have some seeds ready for sowing.
I'm sticking this link here https://www.wildfibres.co.uk/html/soapwort.html to remind what to do once I have some soapwort plants, not just a packet of seeds!

Interestingly,it is often mentioned in the six books of Earths children that started with The Clan Of The Cave Bear. Although books of fiction, Auel mentions the use of Soapwort by Neanderthols 30,000 years ago along with early Cro-Magnons. She mentions adding it to lard to make what I would imagine is soap in a bar?Animal fat is good for the skin and after worikng with bacon I usually just work the small ammount of fat into my hands rather than washing them.

Interesting. What do you do with the resulting whisked up froth? Laundry, dishes?

Anywhere you would use liquid soap or shampoo.
Then I grow some luffas to use with the soap!

Often mixed with Lye made from woodash this would become a powerful cleaner.
