While washing up and getting tea ready this evening. A very scared collie came and sat behind me. Then we heard a load rumbling. Lasted a good 10 seconds or more. Followed by a second a few minutes later but not as long or loud.

The epicentre was the north of the island.

Looking at that list there seem to have been a number of earthquakes on Mull.
Is it you moving rocks around again?

I remember the 1990 earthquake which wasn't too far from here. A house nearby was damaged and ended up being demolished. While it was happening, I couldn't make sense of why the house was shaking and shouted at the dog we had at the time to stop wagging its tail.

I thought of you up in Mull when I read the news and wondered if your new house was build with earthquake resistance built in.

I remember the 1984 earthquake https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1984_Ll%C5...earthquake
I was staying in a hotel on Anglesey, overlooking the Menai Straits, just getting up ready for breakfast. Suddenly, the pictures and whatever on the walls started to shake and my thoughts were, What are they up to in the bedroom next door!! There was also a loud rumbling noise, I thought it was a boat dragging its anchor up the straits.
Quite exciting really.

I don’t think I remember either of those. They were big tremors. I don’t think I’d fancy being caught by some of the big tremors that other parts of the world get. I’ll stick with the little ones we get here that are quite exciting without endangering life or costing ££££ in repair.
