OK .. so on 21st 0ct I sowed five pkts sweet peas on surface of perlite.
Four were various cheapos from Lidl and Wilko.
The other one was an expensive £4.99 packet from Suttons that was in their sale for 89p.
Bargain thought I!
Photos are attached showing between 70 and 100% germination in four of them.
Guess which “bargain” has zero percent germination.

Suttons. Same seed as T&M, same rubbish germination. I've had several packets of sweet peas from them with zero germination.

Me too, just to give them grief. How in the world they have the 'world leader' type reputation amongst the non gardeners, I don't know.

They're trading on past reputation and being a well known name. They're probably the most heavily promoted gardening company around, usually at the top of any Google gardening related search results. They always have a double page offer spread in Gardener's World where they try to convince you that £10.99 is the real price of a plant in a 9cm pot. After you've made an order they hammer you with catalogues and promotional e-mails, and you have to call them to ask to be removed from the mailing list. Gardening blogs love to push you towards T&M's website for that sweet referral money.

Is there still not time for them to germinate, or have the seeds rotted? Huh
