Bitterly cold here today.
And we’ve got a widespread frost predicted for Sunday night.
All my little tender annual seedlings and tomato seedlings in the cold g’house might have to be lugged back over to sit on my kitchen floor.

Husband has been rummaging in the garage and shed for ages and ages.
Found an old greenhouse heater (Eltex brand) circa 1980 and has been off to buy ten quid’s worth of paraffin.
What a star!
All to save a few a few seedlings - and more importantly to keep me happy.

To keep you happy and the kitchen floor clear of plants.

Correct - because I couldn’t easily get near the cooker or the fridge or the kettle.
And that meant he wasn’t getting his usual sustenance.

It hasn't stopped raining all day. I've done nothing in the garden, not even been to see whether the pond has filled back up again. Probably have to start emptying it again tomorrow - if it stops raining!

Had a frost the night before last when my weather app gave me indication of +6/7’C so I didn’t fleece my tomatoes and we had -1’C so a few of them took a hit from the frost. Luckily they were in the poly tunnel with the door closed so I only lost about 10 plants. This morning much milder and same again tonight much milder but I threw the fleece over the Toms anyway and closed the tunnel door.
Coffee keeps me busy until it’s acceptable to drink whiskey.

Yesterday was more rain than dry and today has started drizzly. I doubt I'll be going out to work. At least the temps are mild.

Heavy rain.........again. The pond that's not supposed to be a pond will be overflowing.
