I'm hoping I will have enough pumpkin for pickling after this competition. I remember absolutely loving it as a child, and I've found a recipe for it already. Yum!!

Glad they've arrived Danny. I was worried that they might have been too "fat" for a "small" stamp. Big Grin Good luck!

Just to tangetise a bit, I eat a handful of pumpkin seeds each day (normally with a handful of dried cranberries, to give them a bit of taste), pumpkin seeds are supposedly full of Zinc and can help shrink the prostate.

I buy bags of seeds, which are a light green colour from Aldi. Does anyone know whether it would be feasible to plant some of theses seeds for seed harvesting, and what the pumpkins would look like? Huh

As a general reply, the pumpkin seeds you buy will have been dehulled, which you could do to any pumpkin seeds. There is a variety called Godiva which has hull-less seeds but, I'm told, the pumpkins themselves aren't good for eating.
So, in a pumpkinshell, grow any pumpkins, save the seeds, and pop them yourself.

Dehulling may not be as easy as I thought - if you want lots of seeds.
General consensus seems to be - too much Faff https://cooking.stackexchange.com/questi...sible-easy

I did eat some of my pumpkin seeds last year, and the flesh of course. I salted them, nuked them in the microwave and ate them like salted peanuts. Apparently this is not the best way to get the goodness from them though?

Not the healthiest way to eat them . Definitely one of the nicest.

A sprinkling of salt, not 2 teaspoons!

I'm going to try that when or if I get a pumpkin.

Sounds good and you do get loads of seeds from a pumpkin! Cool

Just by chance I had a box of pumpkin seeds that I'd saved from one of my free pumpkins so I've just shallow fried them until the husks went brown. Sprinkled them with salt and have been nibbling them ever since. This is the way I've always eaten them, Couldn't be bothered to rummage in the cupboard for all the ingredients needed for SC's recipe.
