I'm home again. Had a tour of the plot - its alongside the allotments but not part of it. So much growing there both inside (2 or was it 3 PTs) and outside. Very little damage to the brassicas from birds or bugs - quite envious. Swapped kales as planned. Now I'm warming up with a cup of herb tea. At least it didn't rain.

I've "spoken" to him before about where he sourced his strawbales as he had a Strawbale gardening page. I decided they cost too much for me to invest! I like his innovative idea for putting planting holes in the weed suppressant with a blow torch! Thats what I do.... ..ypu cab actually buy templates for spacing as well!

Its a weedburner. He showed me some membrane that had been zapped by a helper who hadn't remembered to stamp the flame out and the holes were larger than intended.

I went to see Hawkwind perform at the City Hall Newcastle, 50 years ago when I was 18 years old. I have just booked four tickets to see them again at the Northern Kin Festival in 2023 on my Birthday Sunday 30th April . There are lots of other rock & folk groups playing, including Wishbone Ash and Lindisfarne on that day.Its a three day festival but I am not up to camping, so have only booked the one day, which is enough for me.
I let it be known to my family that I was interested in attending and offered to pay anyones entry fee for a day pass who would acompany me? Little did I know that both my sons would agree to join me along with my Son in Law. Both my Sons have never been to a festival before and are aged 43 and 34 years old!!! I'm looking forward to it, and who knows? it may be a bonding experience for us all.!
