Today P is shredding fir tree hedge clippings, I'm probably continuing tidying up for winter. Tomorrow is next door (computer) man's funeral so won't get much done tomorrow.

Barre was cancelled so spent some time at allotment.
My plan is to build another shed/workshop at the top of my garden at home. I already have enough timber I have scrounged (originally for firewood) but it seemed such a waste so have decided to make a shed frame with it.
A guy at allotment is moving to a bigger plot and has to tidy his old plot fiirst!. This is where I come in!
He has loads of weatherboarding timber panels which I can utilise for the sides of my proposed shed.
I spent some time earlier carrying/dragging panels to my plot where I can strip them down and transport them home at my leisure.
A win-win situation, he gets his plot tidied and I get sides for my shed!

Pulled up all the yin yang beans. Hung a couple of them up to carry on drying. Set up a big mesh crate ready for drying all my other beans. Painted some shells. Harvested some stuff.

Started clearing Strip 2. Pruned an apple tree as somebody on the freebie site wanted fruit tree twigs to feed her chinchillas.
Inspected the plum trees and decided to cut them down. They seems to have canker (oozing amber coloured sap) and branches dying off. They haven't had much fruit for the last 2 years. They're also suckering, not just at the base of the tree but some distance away amongst the apple trees... I think they must go.
Sowed beetroot and radish in GH 2.

One diseased plum tree cut down and piled on the bonfire - then it rained.
Unfortunately for my Strip system, it was the Plum in last week's North strip, not the one in this weeks!

Well I didn't get my onions planted out last Friday as nodded off and slept through the afternoon but they are planted out now as are my garlic bulbs. We should hae plenty of alliums to eat next year.
Today I've been weeding and de-brambling some flower beds and filling the pond from the water butts.

Today I had a bonfire at the top of the garden on the site for the proposed shed I am making. I managed to get rid of a full 10 metres of privet hedging I grubbed out a couple of months ago,and replaced with a close boarded fence.
Just came out of the shower and threw all my clothes in the washer as I smelled like a kipper, but worse still,I singed my beard!

Isn't "singed" a funny word? I read it the wrong way first.
