Planted out 2 David Austin roses, a birthday present off a daughter for her mum; strimmed a rough area of grass which I want to cultivate next year. I did turn it over in the spring and hoed it off twice but then other things got in the way and now it looks like it did before I did anything. I have got some squash growing in among the grass there. It will be interesting to see what they produce. I've seen pumpkins, butternut, tromba and a big grey thing. \\also there are some climbing beans but they didn't do very well, probably needed more water when it was very hot.

Interesting! Do you cut them down for a reason, or because they're unsightly now? I have three plants in the garden, but they're right up at the sunny fence and kind of hidden from view by my massive arch so I've not taken any notice of them, other than that they've grown very tall this summer.

Sarris and I usually cut them down to  4ft at the end of July then a second  chop in September to 6inch but it’s been very dry this year so I left them till later.
They’ve been droopy a few times so I’m   not sure what sort of crop I’ll get this year.

Did nothing yesterday as I went out for a jolly with a pal. I'll have to make up for lost time today. I think it's sorting out the gh time, or perhaps cutting down old raspberries, whichever shouts loudest.

3rd day of a three day water fast. Smile Feeling fine and been chopping fire wood all day after a long walk with Kato. Rolleyes  Another doggy walk later and after that I've got an abs smasher session this evening. Looking forward to my scrambled eggs to break fast tomorrow morning! Cool

Playing on the roof. While it was raining I bagged up lots of my saved seeds.
When it stopped raining I started taking my barrow apart for rust treatment, repaint and replacement of some of the wood. Sown some seeds
Builder that would like to go play in the garden.

Collected small animal cages and put one to immediate use. Rearranged the original chicken shed (now chicken food and bedding storage shed) and managed to make room for the spare cages. It was a tight fit - and tonight I've been offered another cage!!
Sowed mangetout peas in the GH.
Some weeding in the North Strip.

No gardening today just shopping, then baked bread and scones.
