2022 = What I harvested today

My first bucket of spuds, 5 courgettes, some pea pods for seed and a few raspberries to graze on.

Are you growing  beans this year V?

My beans have failed miserably this year. Don't know why? The seedlings were fine when I planted them out - lack of water probably.

Three courgettes, lots of cherry tomatoes, some mangetout pods for seed.

Sorry to rub it in veggie but my beans of all descriptions are doing famously!  (I'm not really sorry)

 Had my first boiling of autumn planted broadies and spring sown broadies are just about ready.. The Gigantes are growing well and are full of flower.

My crowning glory thoigh are the three types of French bean that were direct sown. To make sure I didnt have sporadic germintion I dibbered holes and dropped three beans in each station. They are looking really good just now with no work required apart from pulling out the odd weed. Ready to start picking about now methinks!

Yeah, I was late with my cougettes but they are starting to make up for lost time now. My Daughter will soon be hiding behind the curtains when I land with yet another carrier bag of courgettes!

I'm having second thoughts about growing as many courgettes and beans next year, I'm overwhelmed with both, but it's such fun sowing them.

I presume the flowers were for a vase and you weren't going to eat them!  I have eaten feverfew in a sarnie before but never a montbresia (Crocosmia) flower?

Yes for a vase - usually its the compost bin.
I've tried feverfew in a sarnie too - supposed to be good for migraine sufferers (not that I am) but wanted to try it.
