It's 36 degrees here in the shade. Awful. I've only managed to go outside to put a few things in the car to take to the tip, then I went shopping to stay cool. I stayed by the ice cream for ages. Bought a few new things, like a three pot grey and silver stand for the window sill. And ice cream. lol

33 here today. Tomorrow's forecast is 34 but they say it's going to cool down much earlier (from 1pm) instead of carrying on all day like today. We've got a big bit of butterfly netting draped over the greenhouse to shade it a bit (light meter app on the phone suggests about 20% shade) and I've been damping down the paver path a couple of times a day.

It hot, it’s not raining, it’s not windy. No complaints here. Loving it.
Not been paying much attention to the temp. But right now in our porch with door open it’s saying 23c and 70% humidity.

Agree wholeheartedly, you can chuck as much of this weather at me as you like, loving it too. Big Grin

Earlier it went over 37 with a slight breeze. It's a lot cooler now 9pm and only 29C with 40% humidity. Might be able to open the windows even at 11pm.

Desperately need rain to keep things alive. What was a nice looking acer has lost 4 out of 5 main branches. Onions are thinking of ripening early, potatoes all drooping now and the grass has completely stopped. A couple of farmers took an early cut of silage but won't be any more without some rain.
I'll only be harvesting what I can water which is not a lot the last couple of days. The food situation could be quite problematic in this country this autumn I think.

The last hot day for us until we hit the high thirties again next weekend.
Currently 26 after hitting 39.8 this afternoon, we've escaped the worst of it, for now. Just looked on the satellite images, and the smoke from the fires in the Gironde is really obvious. Awful.

Current temp in GH1 is 50 and its 27 in the shady kitchen. Dogs don't want to eat anything, its too hot for them. They're spread out on the tiles with my bare feet. Maybe its the smell that's knocked them out. Big Grin
Said to be cooler air coming from the west today - could do with some rain too, water butts getting low.

BTW do you think the weather presenters on the box are getting a bit too excited about reaching the Hottest ever temps in the UK. They seem positively gleeful at the thought of those 40C temps - in their air conditioned office. Big Grin

The word on the street is that its raining in Porthcawl and there's been a storm with lightning in Plymouth.
In hope that there's rain on its way, I've just moved water from the water butt that catches the most rain into one that's almost empty and I use most often. Going out to do a rain dance now. Smile
