Too much weeding methinks! At least that is what my back is trying to tell me!

Rained all day - that's the good news. The bad news is - I haven't even been down the end of the garden to admire the courgettes.
Have spent some time in the GH, pruning and tying in tomatoes and getting a bed ready for planting a couple of cucumbers and some Carosello. They're one of my experimental veg for 2022.

Weeded my cabbages and kales feed them a seaweed fertiliser. Weeded 3 of my strawberry beds, pick a lot of nice strawberries first time I have ever had strawberries this size I put this down to the seaweed feeds.
I weeded and fed tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers. The cherry tomato plants are not growing very well they are curling back in on themselves, I’ve picked off the lower leaves to let the air get in at them.
I added additional flowers to 4 hanging baskets, cornflower blue, marigolds, and lavenders. I moved the hanging baskets into the tunnel for a few days to give them a jump start before moving them back out again.
Coffee keeps me busy until it’s acceptable to drink whiskey.

Up early this morning, hung the washing out, walked the dog, needed a bodywarmer even though the sun was shining. Cut the lawn as grass was dry then planted out dahlias, chrysanths and some marigolds.Set my lunch away then dived out to retrieve the washing as it clouded over and sky was really black. Washing was dry anyway but as soon as I got it in the sun came out again!

Had allotment plans rearranged by a tricksy napping baby. Despaired of making it over, but then had a really pleasant hour or so with the family at the plot. Provided climbing twine for some beans, very nice partner barrowed our six or so bags of compost from the gate to the plot and earthed up potatoes, toddler helped me pick strawberries and red and white currants. Well rested baby entertained herself. At home I started potting on my very neglected runty tomatoes and deadheaded the new rose.

Tested positive for Covid yesterday, felt crapp , wasn’t sure if it as hay fever or Covid. Spent a few hours in the tunnel and outside raised beds. Picked some more lovely strawberries, transplanted some swede, beetroot and red Russian kale.

Best wishes Can, I hope you have it mild and short.
Planted out the last of the cucumbers and gherkins, and some armpitted tomatoes that have rooted nicely. Did the sow list from last week, this week and next week! Watered.

Armpitted the tomatoes and wound main stems around their strings. Potted up a Sungold tomato armpit I'd found last week which was 25cm long. Thought I'd experiment with keeping it, so popped it into a vase and it has rooted nicely.
Tied in the Jackpot dwarf runners. They're meant to be self-supporting, but I've found that they flop a bit so I've tied them to short bamboo canes. They are covered in blossom.
