I'd be interested in whether you get greenfly and how you (cheaply) get rid of it. Last year (my first at growing aub, chillies and peppers seriously) I was plagued with the blighters and vowed never again. The harvest wasn't worth the hassle. This year I'll stick to tomatoes.
Did you get them in the greenhouse? Did you wash it out well before using?

Yes and yes, but undoubtedly I missed some of the blighters. I even steam cleaned the aluminium frame crevices. It's not really a problem this year as they seem to avoid toms and I've not bothered with aubs and peppers and I have enough chillies in the freezer to last for ages.

Porch still in progress and its raining!  After a few hiccups about quality which have now been sorted, P is happy and it's looking good. One problem is that the rain is getting in....but that could be because it has no roof  Tongue

I escaped greenfly last year but was plagued with red spider mites. The cucumber and aubergines were worse hit though the cucumber (a bella bought in a seed sale in local G.C.) plant did produce about 25 cucumbers. The aubergines were massacred. I've sown 3 types - long purple, black beauty and ronde de valence to see if there is any difference.

I've not sown mine yet but I'm sure there will be more than 4.

I've sown some courgettes, squashes and pumpkins today, in more modest numbers than my cucumbers haha

They've all gone in the conservatory, that's hovering around 9 degrees, fairly constant. It's not really warm enough, but the heating is so rarely on now that it won't get much warmer until the sun warms it up Smile
