Frogs and Frog spawn

Bug
I've been worrying about the frogs in the pond as there hasn't been any frogspawn this year. In fact, I'd made up my mind that they'd packed their little froggy bags and hopped it.
Today we started to drain the pond and you can guess what we found! Five frogs and one was a monster frog. He waddled out from under a stone, clutching a lady frog. Blush
A couple of hours later - there's a clump of spawn!!
I won't do any more to the pond area until the tadpoles have been and gone - then I'll create a small pond, maybe with a baby bath, as part of the makeover.
Really happy to have found them today.  Big Grin

Loads of frogspawn in the ponds and pools where I walk Kato. I keep hearig little splashes and wonder whether this is the frogs copulating or whether some of the frogspawn is turning into tadpoles or froglets! Smile

Loads of toads crossing on the road the other night when we had surface flooding. Forgot it was ruddy natterjack toad season - that was fun. My daughter didn't really grasp what was so special about it Smile

Glad to here the froggies are still happy at yours. I get frogs,. but for some reason they never spawn in our pond and they won't now as the goldfish are far to happy and making up for it.

Never had spawn, I fear the newts eat it, if in fact there ever is any. We get the odd visiting frog that makes me jump when we meet.

Nothing in our pond. I guess the bl**dy goldfish scoffed the lot!
