Dig over area of grass, about 50sq.ft. a day. (600sq.ft. in all)
check onion seedlings to see if enough have germinated. How many do I need?
Check the spring cabbages that germinated, all 4 of them.
check the dahlia tubers that they are not rotting. Pot up any that seem dodgy,
bring in the carrot frame, used against root fly.
Drive to London to babysit for a day
Drive back.

I wasn't going to do any more area of digging but the septic tank collapsed last winter in a flood so i needed to fence the new one off- and I fenced off a little bit more than it needed.
Probably done about 1/3 of it so far:

Looking up hablitzia it sounds interesting but I think I'd mistake it for bindweed Smile

So I set about doing my seven tasks today, but as I found a pot with perennial kale I felt obliged to find somewhere permanent for it. The space I chose is in a border, and under the gravel I found concrete. That has to come out - I need that space along the fence for growing. Well, it was a beast of a block of concrete! It took me three hours to knock it into smaller pieces, and there's one piece still in there! It's well over a foot and a half deep. So.. I didn't get anything else on the list done.

Only the first week and I've failed,  I'll go stand in the corner.  Blush

Not sown lettuce or dug up  JA's.

Outdoor
Assist in cleaning the car WASN'T REQUIRED
Continue to dig over gh borders
Sow broad beans in modules
Sow peas in modules
Empty old tom MFBs
Sow more carrots in MFBs
Figure out how to support bijou peas as they extend beyond their existing canes

Indoor
Remove seedlings from airing cupboard  -  DONE
Prick out airing cupboard seedlings if necessary  -  not likely needed only a few popped as yet
Set up growlights  -  DONE
Repot a very small fibrous begonia that is bravely in flower DONE
Sort seeds and decide which ones I'm growing  this year, though to be honest this ongoing and ever changing
Plan veg patch with a half hearted attempt at crop rotation
Clear the dining room table of my seed boxes because P is getting  twitchy DONE
Wash kitchen floor  -  DONE

Don't  worry Bren, I'll join you in the corner. Although I've spent the morning clearing the pantry cupboard and throwing some stuff away. It wasn't on my list but I feel virtuous anyway. Amazing what you find from years gone by in the back of the pantry Smile

My list hasn't been touched today either, since we had to go shopping and locate a parcel at my old house. Then a friend of Jay's got in touch and asked if we could use a concrete electric jackhammer. Well yes, of course! We do!

At the back of the garden there's a fence with a gate, and we have at least a 2x4 area covered by huge concrete slabs. They're good to noone - that's prime space for my veggies! So we went to Hull and picked it up. Sadly too dark to be out with it tonight, but I'll be out there tomorrow, breaking up as much as I can.

I'm sure we'll be able to hang on to some of it too, because the pond that we have in the garden is like a rectangular box into the ground, with straight walls and it's quite deep. That will mean a lot of work if I want to change that to a 'pretty' pond, and it's in a bad position too, so we might just find a new home for the fish and fill it in. The concrete will be handy for that - the pond is around 5ft deep.
