Spotted this on the BBC news site. Mainly based in Holland methinks but judging by my dog walks, little forests seem to be cropping up all over the place. Well done to ever instigated it. Cool

According to https://tinyforest.earthwatch.org.uk/ there are 48 tiny forests in the UK but I know that's wrong as it doesn't include the Welsh ones https://www.keepwalestidy.cymru/tiny-forest.
I'd like to see more Tiny Orchards for local people to forage .

There's a lot of talk about how trees take up carbon. Half an acre of mature woodland, i.e. with trees 30+ years old, takes up in a year about the amount of carbon dioxide produced annually by ONE average car. Planting trees now is nice for biodiversity and wildlife (as long as humans stay out), but is not going to save the planet any time soon. Marine ecosystems can take up 20 times that.  I love trees and when out walking at this time of year I carry a pocketful of tree seeds - apple, conkers, ash/maple keys, acorns - then wherever I see a bare stretch of field fence I push one or two into the earth.  BUT we really need to protect our oceans more, and plant more kelp!

And stop chopping down the mature trees our planet already has.
