Started clearing a section towards the end of the plot today.
I can believe how the weeds have gown given this was a pile of soil dumped on top of weed matting.
Talking to another plot holder about various things and admitting I didn't know what he was talking about the other day. I'm breaking the north/south devide

Cut back two of the grapevines that have rampaged in the last couple of days. The variety is Noah, used locally as a rootstock and rumours abound that wine made from the grapes is either illegal or poisonous, or possibly both. Having tasted some wine made by our late neighbour, I would say poisonous is a little harsh, simply disgusting would be closer to the truth!!
Strimmed the veg garden paths and round by the shed and work areas.
Replanted some aubergines dug up by the mole.

Cleared the Bijou mangetout out of the GH to make space for cucumbers or carosello. Not sure which yet.
Picked all the pea pods and put them on the bedroom windowsill to dry in the sun. Watching pea pods dry is the most exciting thing I do these days.
Collected some ratchet loppers from the Freebie site.

Lots of pricking out, potting on and repotting. Weeded pots. Tied up everlasting sweet peas. Taking apart metal work.

Started to weed my outdoor potato drills, had to stop around 9 as the midges were eating me alive, so I went for a spin down the bog on my quad.

Prayed and waited for the promised thunderstorms and rain. Was mightily disappointed.

Filled green waste bin with brambles, dock, sticky willy and seeding grass heads - all stuff I want out of the garden and not in the compost.
Watered GHs - so many plants ready to plant out but the ground is too dry and they'll have to wait for a downpour.
Watched baby birds being fed by their parents - any excuse to stop work.
