Demolishing concrete steps up to front door and cleaning mortar off scrounged bricks for to use on rebuild. Just had text off Daughter to say I have worked Grandson too hard as he has passed out and is fast asleep. Poor sod, at his age my Dad was in full time employment.
Serves him right for getting me to buy him an ice cream off 'Icecream Man' for £3.50.

Off to the Isle of Wight for a day trip. Wish it could have been an overnighter or even longer but I have so many babies in the gh that need attention, covering overnight against the cold and uncovering in the morning. With opening and closing of doors depending on the solar gain and wind, there's no chance of staying away. Anyway that wind is biting this morning so it'll be pretty chilly by the seaside but just in case I've got my bucket and spade.

Good gracious! Is that how much it costs for an ice cream from a van now? Wow! The last time I had one (many years ago) it was 25p and I thought that was extortionate - never had one since.

I know what an iron is but, can’t say I’ve ever been inclined to use one.
