Marrow v Courgette

Hello Folks

I know this has been done before on other sites but I'd still like to know your thoughts.

So if I wanted larger fruit for particular recipes should I go with dedicated marrow or just let a few courgettes grow bigger?

Personally I would just use courgettes, as they bulk up quite quickly if they don't get picked

I just use the ones that "escape"!

I don't grow big marrows as, to me, they're tasteless.
As a kid we'd be given "stuffed marrow" - awful!

Yes, I will Spec.

Last years went a bit wrong/off as it was the first year at the plot and I ended up with a cucurbit carpet.

Hopefully my planning/spacing will be better this year. One q, I did let them sprawl, is it better to train up supports?

That's one veg I have never grown Spec!  What can you liken the taste to and are they easy to grow?  Looking for summat a bit different in the cucurbit family and may give them a try.

They're a bit butternut squash-ish - like a firm courgette. All the seeds are in the bulbous end and the rest is just "meat, all meat" in a squashy sort of way.
............and the best bit, they make you laugh.
