Can you recommend any chilli's or sweet peppers that do reasonably well outside please?
If it's none fair enough!! Someone else will have to answer. Oddly enough being up here doesn’t lend itself to outside growing. I know of a few people who have managed to grow outside. Having said that, you’ll still have a much better chilli plant, crop & experience if you grow them inside.

If it's none fair enough!! Sweet Chocolate and Amy (both sweet peppers) did OK for me outside last year. Etiuda was worse off but I still got a few fruit. They did really well early in the summer but when the wet, cooler weather came they were much less productive. They would do much better under a low tunnel.
The only chilli I've grown outside is Alberto's Locoto Rocoto and that was only because it was getting too gangly for the greenhouse. It actually set fruit much better outside, it seems like the greenhouse was too hot for proper pollination. The branches are quite fragile and will snap in high winds though. It'll go in a bigger pot next year and will have a wire cage for support.

I missed this thread, somehow
So far I have sown -
Anaheim
Yellow Scotch Bonnet
Serrano green/red
Cayenne
Padron
Hot lemon
Habanero Maya Red
Biquinho Yellow & Red
Cherry Bomb
Chiltepin
Ancho Grande
Albertos Locoto Red
And just delivered and still to be sown -
Jalapeno Felicity
Serrano Violet
Fatalii Yellow
Fatalii Rose
Sugar Rush peach
Over-wintered plants -
Habanero Maya Red
Chiltepin
Fatalii Yellow
Krishna Jolokia
Scotch Bonnet yellow
Interestingly, the hot lemon we're eating from the freezer this year are really fruity, which they never have been before. The seeds are all the same, but these fruit come from an over-wintered and then planted out plant. The fruit are bigger from this second season, too! As it has previously been disappointing, I didn't keep any to over winter last year

That’s a list and a half that is PP. Most excellent .
What are the fatalii yellow like? I’m growing them for the first time this year.
I must add that to my list.

Fatalii yellow are absolutely my most favourite chilli!
Whilst they're incredibly fruity and fresh tasting, they could take out your nose hairs if you breathe in the contents of the wok. I make ketchup and chilli jelly from them plus cook with them.
The rose variety is new to me - can't wait.
Haven't tried the sugar rush peach before either but I'm hoping for a similar fruity chilli.

I grow sugar rush every year it’s like a sweet pepper that takes your head off. Not super hot heat, but probably habanero/ scotch bonnet sort of heat.

If it's none fair enough!! I'm sorry Broadway - I have checked for the seeds. I had them in my hand a couple of weeks ago and I can't find them now. So annoying, so sorry.

I decided to try sow a few seeds again in my propogator on a warm window sill, so I have planted Ring of Fire, Antilais Caribbean and a red scotch bonnet. Let’s see if we have any luck this year.
Coffee keeps me busy until it’s acceptable to drink whiskey.
